This necklace is dedicated to Inanna, the goddess of love, beauty, justice and political power.
Inanna was the most powerful priestess goddess of Sumer, which in Sumerian means “Queen of Heaven”, the Sumerian goddess of love and fertility and Venus is her celestial representation.
Gold and lapis lazuli were the most sought-after jewels in ancient times, which led me to combine these two precious minerals that I could recicle and create a delicate design with sturdy materials in honour of Inanna.

Handmade in Lanzarote

“Inanna, the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, beauty, war, justice and fertility, was my inspiration for this necklace of golden sea urchins and lapis lazuli. Her story is the oldest known goddess myth and speaks of the need to descend and sacrifice everything to undergo a complete transformation before ascending, returning to life and reintegrating into the community as a woman who owns herself. As part of this process, Inanna gave up her gold jewellery as a symbol of her willingness to continue this sacrificial journey. Similarly, when she regained her strength and became her true self, a lapis lazuli necklace was returned to her to symbolise the power of truthfulness, integrity and love.

This necklace draws on the powerful symbols of the most revered goddess of the matriarchal era. Handmade in Lanzarote from fine materials, this design is also available as a bracelet.

May the wearer of this necklace feel accompanied in difficult moments and feel the power of true inner commitment as a force towards creative renewal and life.
