The origins of Famaraspirit date back to 1995 when the creator of the brand, Tania Candela, decided to put down roots in Caleta de Famara and dedicate herself professionally to one of her passions, jewellery.

After more than 25 years of experience in the sector, famaraspirit is born as its own jewellery brand with Famara as a source of inspiration. An independent business and personal project with a clear conviction: in this denaturalised and accelerated world, the only way forward is to return to nature. Through the language of jewellery, we want to bring to the world this philosophy of a more conscious and slower life.

Our mission

Each of the famaraspirit pieces mirrors moments lived in close contact with nature, especially with the beach of Famara and the natural park of Lanzarote in which it is located. We seek to create a bridge between the wearer and nature allowing the individual to reconnect with it and capture its beauty.

We have chosen to distance ourselves from the fast pace of modern life, the consumerism spirit and throwaway products. We believe in ethical jewellery therefore, we create timeless pieces, with original and genuine aesthetic so that they become more than just an accessory. We create symbols that enhance the personality of those who wear them. We want them to become heirlooms with sentimental value that are passed down from generation to generation.

This brand was created in 2014 in Caleta de Famara, a small village in the natural park of the Chinijo Archipelago in Lanzarote.

THE CREATOR

As a woman searching for her way, I have always been drawn to crafts and moving arts. At the age of seventeen, I began to spend my afternoons sitting in the local squares, pliers in hand, watching veteran craftsmen who understood nature as a gift. Their wonderful imaginations transformed raw materials into unique pieces of art.

The afternoons spent experimenting, working with my hands on wires and stones helped me to get closer to the world of jewellery making. It was the beginning of a journey that took me to different parts of the world, to get to know various continents and connect with their ancestral culture, traditions and diverse ways of life. This multicultural richness enlightened my heart and enriched my soul.

After years of travelling across several continents, I arrived in Famara. It was simply love at first sight. I realised that I had found my place and I was transformed. I stopped looking outside to look inside myself. Travelling ceased to be a priority and I began to appreciate the simple and quiet life that this remote village in the middle of a natural setting gave me. After putting down roots in La Caleta, dedicating years to my newly formed family and becoming a professional jewellery designer, it was time to launch famaraspirit into the world.
